Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) provides various community service and community engagement programs aimed at improving public access to healthcare services. One such initiative is a free health examination and medical treatment program organized by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of UNDIP for residents of Kepakisan Village, Banjarnegara. This activity was conducted as part of UNDIP’s community service program and provided direct healthcare services to the local community. In addition, the Faculty of Medicine of UNDIP conducted free health examinations and consultations for the community of Tambakrejo Fishing Village, Semarang, in collaboration with PATTIRO Semarang and Lazismu Central Java. The activity involved a medical team consisting of general practitioners, pediatricians, dermatologists, and obstetricians and gynecologists.

Access to healthcare services is also provided to elderly communities. The Master of Public Health Program of the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) at UNDIP conducted a community service activity at Rowosari Community Health Center (Puskesmas Rowosari), Semarang, on May 20, 2025, specifically targeting elderly participants. The activity was attended by 44 elderly participants and was conducted in collaboration between the Master of Public Health Program of FKM UNDIP and Puskesmas Rowosari. The materials covered various health topics relevant to the elderly, including hypertension. Therefore, the program not only provided health education but also supported increased health knowledge and awareness among the elderly community.

UNDIP also provides access to drinking water through free drinking water facilities on campus. In its sustainability report, UNDIP explains that the university promotes access to clean and safe drinking water through plans to install free drinking water stations in every faculty. The initiative was introduced alongside the launch of VOCA in November 2024 and is intended to support access to drinking water for the academic community. UNDIP’s documentation also states that the use of tumblers and the provision of free drinking water have been implemented on campus as part of efforts to reduce plastic waste.

In the field of oral and dental health, UNDIP also implements community service programs through dental health education for children. One of the activities documented in the Journal of Public Health and Community Service of UNDIP is the program “Improving Knowledge of Oral and Dental Health among Elementary School Students,” which was conducted at SDN Bulusan, Tembalang, Semarang, from August to November 2024. The activity involved teacher representatives and fourth-grade students and included education on oral and dental health as well as demonstrations and practice of proper tooth-brushing techniques. The publication documentation also shows mentoring by students from the FKM UNDIP community service team and a joint tooth-brushing practice session with the participants.
