1.3.3 – Low Income Student Support
Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) provides various forms of financial assistance to support students experiencing financial difficulties throughout their studies. One such measure is the Tuition Fee (UKT) Adjustment Program. For the 2026/2027 Fall Semester, UNDIP provided students with the opportunity to apply for tuition fee adjustments in response to changes in the financial circumstances of the individuals responsible for their tuition payments. The available forms of assistance include a reduction in the UKT category, a reduction in the tuition fee amount, tuition fee exemption or reimbursement, installment payment arrangements, and payment deferrals. Applications are submitted online through the UNDIP UKT system and are subject to a verification process at both the faculty/school and university levels. For eligible students who meet the stipulated requirements, the tuition fee reduction may reach 50%, while tuition fee exemptions or reimbursements may also be granted in accordance with the applicable provisions.

Support for low-income students is also provided through UNDIP Food Truck, which provides free lunches for students in need. The program has been operating since 2022 and, in 2026, has a production capacity of approximately 1,850 meals per day or around 450,000 meals per year. In addition to food assistance, UNDIP provides Rusunawa as a housing option for students, particularly those from outside Semarang, and offers free transportation through the UNDIP Campus Bus.

The Campus Bus consists of four vehicles serving two routes, namely the Tembalang Campus loop route and the Tembalang–Simpang Lima route, operating Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 17:00 WIB. Students can use the service by showing their Student Identification Card (KTM).
In addition to basic needs support, UNDIP also provides legal assistance services through the UNDIP Legal Office. These services include providing legal advice, resolving legal issues, as well as legal assistance and/or representation for UNDIP entities. Overall, these various forms of support demonstrate UNDIP’s efforts to reduce financial barriers that may affect students’ ability to continue their studies through tuition fee assistance, food support, housing support, transportation access, and legal assistance.
