Water-conscious building standards
Buildings in UNDIP have installed a number of standards to minimise water use in order to achieve the Water Management Target by 2030. Most of the new buildings are equipped with automatic sensor water taps that are designed to save water use. UNDIP also installed water-efficient appliances such as smart flushing toilets and garden sprinkler systems. By 2024, 57% of toilets in the campus are high-efficient toilet flush. UNDIP promotes the “Water Efficient” campaign, and Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) Tanks are installed for alternative water sources, reducing the use of shallow groundwater significantly. It is mandatory for each faculty to build a RWH tank to ensure all faculties contribute to water conservation.
