3.3.5 – Mental Health Support for Students at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP)
Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has developed an integrated mental-health support system for its students The services cover individual and group counselling, academic, personal and social counselling, self-development, mental-health education, stress management, faculty counselling, and peer counselling. This approach demonstrates that UNDIP views student mental health not only as a response to psychological problems, but also as an important part of student well-being, resilience, and academic success.
1. UPT LKDPDEM
UPT LKDPDEM which has an abbreviation for Unit Pelaksana Teknis Layanan Konsultasi, Disabilitas, Penegakan Disiplin dan Etika Mahasiswa or Unit for Student Counseling, Disability Services, Disciplinary Enforcement, and Ethics) is one of Universitas Diponegoro’s units, that dedicated to promoting student welfare, protection, and personal development. The unit that goes under Directorate for Students and Alumni provides consultation services for students experiencing personal, psychological, academic, or social difficulties. In addition, UPT LKDPDEM provides support and assistance for students with disabilities and contributes to the promotion and implementation of student discipline and ethical standards within the university environment. The institutional foundation of the UPT LKDPDEM at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) is formally established under Rector Regulation of UNDIP Number 13 of 2024, which stipulates the Unit’s mandate, functions, organizational structure, and responsibilities in providing student-related services. Prior to foundation of the UPT LKDPDEM, it has been created Rector’s Decree as stipulated in Letter Number 13 13/UN7.A/HK/III/2023 concerning the Appointment of the Student Consultation Service Team (LKM) for 2023, regarded as an important milestone in the development of UNDIP’s student support system.

a.1 Layanan Konsultasi Mahasiswa Universitas Diponegoro
Layanan Konsultasi Mahasiswa Universitas Diponegoro is designed to facilitate and enhance students’ equitable and timely access to comprehensive, responsive, and student-centered consultation support services that are tailored to their diverse academic, personal, social, and developmental needs, enabling them to effectively navigate a broad range of academic, personal, social, and other student-related concerns. Through this service, UNDIP is committed to ensure that all students have equitable and meaningful access to appropriate support services that are delivered in a professional, accessible, timely, and responsive manner.
Layanan Konsultasi Mahasiswa Universitas Diponegoro is widely accessible to all Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) students, regardless of their faculty, academic program, educational background, or individual circumstances, thereby ensuring that every student has equitable opportunities to obtain appropriate assistance and guidance throughout their university experience. The service is available on working days, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and is supported by professional staff members of the UPT LKDPDEM who are responsible for facilitating consultation and providing responsive assistance to student.

a.2 Layanan Disabilitas Universitas Diponegoro
Universitas Diponegoro is committed to promoting an inclusive academic environment by providing disability services through designed to ensure that students with disabilities have equitable access to education, academic support, campus facilities, and student activities.
The disability service is intended to facilitate appropriate assistance for students with both physical and mental disabilities. Students may report their needs independently (self-reporting) and seek assistance through UPT LKDPDEM. The service may include consultation, identification of individual needs, coordination of appropriate support, and referrals to relevant professionals when necessary. This mechanism enables UNDIP to provide support that is responsive to the diverse circumstances and requirements of students with disabilities.
