The nature of a woman’s body supports her to be able to give birth to children and breastfeed them. Breastfeeding is also a meaningful phase of life for women. For approximately two years, children need their mother’s milk (ASI) to grow, even breast milk is the first source for a newborn. Breastfeeding is also a way of emotions and love bonding between mother and child. Therefore, mothers try to be able to breastfeed their children under any conditions. Mothers handled their business in such a way, so that breastfeeding can still take place properly. Business mothers, including working outside the home, do not dampen their enthusiasm for breastfeeding. The number of breastfeeding mothers who work outside the home demands changes and developments in technology, policies and social systems that are more supporting breastfeeding mothers.

One of the policies in supporting working mothers who breastfeed their children is to provide breastfeeding rooms, or what is known as lactation rooms, in places where mothers work. Undip, as one of the educational institutions with numerous women workers, issued a policy of providing lactation rooms in each faculty and work units below the university. The provision of room allocation for lactation rooms is also based on health science studies that have been carried out by many academics. Besides Undip, provision of lactation rooms have also been carried out by the government and other private sectors.
