Faculty of Medicine Universitas Diponegoro recently held two past events and one upcoming event that encourage the development of knowledge and research in the field of health and medicine. The two past events are Online Guest Lectures in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Update 2020 and Webinar of “Management of Squamosa Cell Carcinoma Head and Neck Cancer”.
The online guest lecture was held on Saturday-Sunday, 22-23 August 2020 which presented four guest lecturers namely dr Indriati M.S. Tobing Sp.KFR-K, Dr. Med.Sc. dr. Irma Ruslina Defi, Sp. KFR-K, dr. Luh Karunia Wahyuni, Sp.KFR-K, dr. Rosiana Pradanasari Wirawan, Sp. KFR-K. The topic brought by the guest lecturers are Diagnosis and Classification of SCI; Acute, Subacute and Chronic Phase SCI Management (by dr Indriati M.S. Tobing Sp.KFR-K), Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment; Management of Geriatric Syndrome Rehabilitation (by Dr. Med.Sc. dr. Irma Ruslina Defi, Sp. KFR-K), Posture and Gait in Cerebral Palsy; Orthosis and Shoe Prescription in Cerebral Palsy (by dr. Luh Karunia Wahyuni, Sp.KFR-K), Target and Evaluation of Acute, Sub-acute, and Chronic Stroke Patients; Management of Cognitive Problems, Swallowing and Communication in Stroke Patients (by dr. Rosiana Pradanasari Wirawan, Sp. KFR-K). This online guest lecture discussed about the development of physical medicine and rehabilitation cases and solutions.
The second past event is webinar of “Management of Squamosa Cell Carcinoma Head and Neck Cancer”. The webinar was held by ENT Specialist Doctor Study Program, Faculty of Medicine Undip in collaboration with PERHATI-KL Northern Central Java on Saturday, 22 August 2020. This webinar presented three speakers namely dr. Willy Yusmawan, Sp. THT KL (K) MSi.Med., dr. Dwi Antono, Sp.THT KL (K), and dr. Vaibhav Saxena, with a moderator by dr. Nur Iman Nugroho, Sp. THT KL. The topics that the speakers presented are Diagnosis and Treatment Head and Neck Cancer, Chemotherapy in Head and Neck Cancer, and The Role of Targetted Therapy: Management Squamosa Cell Carcinoma Head and Neck Cancer.
The upcoming event is course of infectious diseases hosted by Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University (UNDIP) with the title of Diponegoro Course on Tropical Infectious Diseases Focused on Leprosy and Tuberculosis. This course aims to introduce medical students from outside Indonesia, especially those from developed sub-tropical countries, to the health issues and management of tropical infections in Indonesia as Indonesia located on the equator and has tropical climate is the best place to study various kinds of tropical infection cases especially Tuberculosis and Leprosy, because these two diseases still pose high number of patients infected.
