The sustainability of ground water as part of the life on land is our responsibility. This responsibility is on the hand of any parties, including the academics. Undip SDGs Centre as part of the academics and a research center focusing on the SDGs take this responsibility by doing plant trees on Undip land.

The trees planting brings many benefit for the earth, human beings and any living things. It is also a form of gratitude of the nature’s giving to our lives. Planting trees also an effort to achieve SDG 15 that aims to save the sustainable life on land. Many lives will be saved by planting trees. Thus, it is extremely vital to keep the land green by planting trees on land.

Plant trees action by Undip SDGs Centre squad was carried out on Sunday, October 4th 2020. There were about ten members of Undip SDGs Centre get involved in this action. They planted five trees on Undip land located on southwest of Widya Puraya Building. The all squads took a part of putting in the trees to the dug planting hole, hoeing the ground, and watering the trees. Planting trees bring a fresh and happy atmosphere for everyone got involved in. it is seen from their big smile and laughter along the planting time. Not only the Male member of Undip SDGs Centre, the Female member of Undip SDGs Centre also took part of hoeing the ground and watering the trees. “This action was initiated by Undip SDGs Centre as a model for everyone, Undip academics for specific, that real action of keeping the lives on land is important to do”, as Prof Ambariyanto, the Vice Rector for International and Research Cooperation of Universitas Diponegoro stated at that moment, representing Rector of Universitas Diponegoro. This planting action is regular agenda for Undip since Undip put sustainable environment as priority. Planting trees action also could be integrated with any kinds of agenda like outdoor sports, nature trail, or even research.
