UNDIP has worked collaboratively with government in co-operative planning for climate change disasters. In 2018, UNDIP participated in the formulation of mitigating climate change disaster in Tegal regency, Central Java Province (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/climate%20change%20disaster%20in%20Tegal%20regency.jpeg). In 2018, UNDIP also signed a collaboration agreement with other parties including government to participate in planning for restoring the eroding area along the coastline of the Northern part of Java Indonesia (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/coastline%20of%20the%20Northern%20part%20of%20Java.pdf). The erosion is caused by the rising of sea levels due to global warming. The letter of collaboration is valid until 2020. In 2018, UNDIP also shared with local government (Semarang municipality) in preparing the Action Plan for Climate Change Mitigation for 2018-2030 (http://iucce.org/index.php/home/article_pub/105). Semarang City Climate Change Mitigation Regional Action Plan 2018 – 2030 is used as a reference for all stakeholders in Semarang City in carrying out various activities that directly or indirectly will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Also, in collaboration with Initiative for Urban Climate Change and Environment (IUCCE), Mercy Corps Indonesia and Department of Urban and Regional Planning, UNDIP developed a Community-Based Disaster Risk Management for Susukan Sub district, Sidomulyo Sub district, Kalirejo Sub district, Ungaran Sub-District, Bandarjo Sub district, and Lerep Village, which are flood-prone areas. The document contains various action plans that will be developed by communities to reduce the risks and impacts of flood. With this document, it is hope that the community of Susukan Sub district, Sidomulyo Sub district, Kalirejo Sub district, Ungaran Sub district, Bandarjo Sub district, and Lerep Village become more resilient and prepared in the face of future floods and can play a role to reduce the risk of flooding in their area (http://iucce.org/index.php/home/article_pub/91). In 2018, UNDIP participated in co-operative studies on vulnerability to climate change in Boyolali regency, working in collaboration with Boyolali district government (http://ditjenppi.menlhk.go.id/berita-ppi/3240-pendampingan-kajian-kerentanan-kabupaten-boyolali.html). Also, in 2018 UNDIP participated in planning of the Tanjung Emas port polder and drainage system as one of the regional solutions to avoid tidal flood due to the rising of sea levels (https://hmsundip.or.id/2018/05/24/sistem-polder-dan-drainase-pelabuhan-tanjung-emas-sebagai-salah-satu-solusi-daerah-yang-berada-di-bawah-permukaan-air-laut/). In 2018, UNDIP and Central Java Provincial Government also developed a strategy called “forest rehabilitation governance reform” (http://theconversation.com/hadapi-perubahan-iklim-pemerintah-daerah-berperan-penting-dalam-reformasi-tata-kelola-rehabilitasi-hutan-104780). This forest rehabilitation is essential to reduce the concentration of greenhouse gases as well as the negative effect of climate change.
