UNDIP through Centre for Coastal Rehabilitation and Disaster Mitigation Studies (CoREM) carried out a number of programs and activities supporting SDGs with regard particularly in rehabilitating and mitigating of disaster in the coastal regions (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/CoREM.pdf). The projects on 2018 was part of the long-term project of CoREM commencing on 2016 until 2020. In 2018, UNDIP (the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Engineering and Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Mathematics) also conducted a community service in Kandri village Semarang city with aim to develop and utilize aquaponics in supporting sustainable urban farming (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/Aquaponic.pdf). UNDIP (the School of Postgraduate Studies) also conducted a community service programme to evaluate the mangrove ecosystem in Mangunharjo village, district of Tugu, Semarang city (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/Mangrove%20ecosystem.pdf). The project was conducted on 2018. In 2018, UNDIP is requested by the Central Java Provincial Government to be involved in formulating the Action Plan for the Sustainable Development Goals for the years 2018-2023 (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/Central%20Java%20Provincial%20Government.pdf). In 2018, some lecturers from UNDIP were also asked to be the executive team for the Sustainable Development Goals for the Central Java Province (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/executive%20team%20for%20the%20Sustainable%20Development%20Goals.pdf). In collaboration with Central Java Provincial Government and other parties, UNDIP conducted a study to increase the intermodality and ridership of BRT Trans Semarang (public bus transport) in Semarang city (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/BRT%20Trans%20Semarang.pdf). The study was conducted on 2017-2018.  In partnership with Regional Planning Agency of the Central Java Province and other parties, UNDIP developed policies and strategies to support “One Resilient Semarang” and sustainable development (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/One%20Resilient%20Semarang.pdf). The project was conducted on 2018. From 2016 onward, UNDIP has been involved in developing the “Semarang City’s Resilience Strategy Document as part of the 100 Resilient Cities initiative” in collaboration with Semarang city government (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/Semarang%20City%E2%80%99s%20Resilience%20Strategy%20Document.pdf). This project was carried out to achieve several aims including sustainable water and energy, new economic opportunities, readiness for disasters and diseases, integrated mobility, transparent public information and governance and competitive human resources. The direct involvement of UNDIP in national government SDG policy was also seen in developing and monitoring the sustainable transportation system in Semarang city, which has been initiated from May 2016 (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/sustainable%20transportation%20system.pdf).  On 2018, UNDIP had a direct involvement in developing the strategies to mitigate the impact of climate change. In the latter case, UNDIP and Central Java Provincial Government developed a strategy called “forest rehabilitation governance reform” (http://theconversation.com/hadapi-perubahan-iklim-pemerintah-daerah-berperan-penting-dalam-reformasi-tata-kelola-rehabilitasi-hutan-104780). In 2018, UNDIP also developed a Community-Based Disaster Risk Management for Susukan Sub district, Sidomulyo Sub district, Kalirejo Sub district, Ungaran Sub-District, Bandarjo Sub district, and Lerep Village, which are flood-prone areas.
