In partnership with many international parties, UNDIP conducted research, review comparative approaches and developed international best practice on tackling the SDGs. In 2018, UNDIP (the School of Postgraduate Studies) and the Environment Research Theme, Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization (ANSTO) initiated a collaborative work in research, educational program and workshop on best practice on tackling the SDGs especially on climate change issue (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/Australian%20Nuclear%20Science%20and%20Technology%20Organisation.pdf) (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/ANSTO.pdf). The memorandum of agreement will be valid until 2024. In November 2018, UNDIP (Faculty of Engineering) and the Netherland Enterprise Agency Programme (Director Water as Leverage for Resilient Cities Asia) have also signed a statement of cooperation in best practice on tackling the SDGs especially in executing the program called “Water as Leverage for Resilient Cities” (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/Netherland%20Enterprise%20Agency.pdf). In 2018, UNDIP collaborated with some international agencies (e.g., Witteveen + Bos, KuiperCompagnons, Sweco, Fugro, Deltares and MVO NL) to develop and reviewed comparative approaches to achieve “One Resilient Semarang” (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/One%20Resilient%20Semarang.pdf). This project was therefore expected to support the urban development in Semarang city towards a better and more climate resilient urban development. Initiated from 2016, in partnership with Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), the Ministry of Environment of Japan (MoEJ) and Toyama, Hokusan Co, Ltd, UNDIP developed and monitored the sustainable transportation system in Semarang city (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/sustainable%20transportation%20system.pdf). In cooperation with E-Konzal Co. It is expected that in 2030 Semarang becomes low carbon society. In 2016, UNDIP and University of Hawaii at Manoa signed a collaboration in conducting a joint research particularly in vulnerability assessment and action plan on tackling the SDGs particularly in building resilience city of Semarang and dealing with flooding and flood-related issues (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/University%20of%20Hawaii.pdf). The agreement will be effective until 2021. Initiated from 2016 onward, UNDIP, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) collaborated in research, review and develop international best practice on improving the management of the public transportation network in Semarang city (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/public%20transportation%20network.pdf). In partnership with Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), UNDIP also reviewed comparative approaches and developed international best practice on tackling the SDGs from 2016 to 2019. For instances, translating policy research into low carbon transport project in Semarang City-Indonesia (https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/partnership/?p=29984), enhancing the performance of the city’s mobility systems by promoting the use, improving the service quality, and enhancing the management of the public transportation network (https://iges.or.jp/en/pub/institutionalization-implementation-semarang/en; https://100rc.app.box.com/s/mfh41hnlgd3v5m0205b0qgsbmh2d9pgz) and creating a low-carbon society through intercity partnerships (https://iges.or.jp/en/pub/low-carbon-city-profile-climate-change-0/en).
