In February 2018 UNDIP and Puls Trading Far East Limited agreed to carry out the feasibility study on the utilization of biomass energy in textile and garment industries (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/Puls%20Trading%20Far%20East%20Limited.pdf).
To achieve “Semarang Low Carbon Society” in 2030, UNDIP and some NGOs such as Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and National Institute for Environmental Studies Japan conducted a research on analysing the potential climate and air quality co-benefits in the transport sector in Semarang city. This research was essential to promote climate change actions and policies in Semarang city. In 2018, UNDIP and the Environment Research Theme, Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization (ANSTO) agreed to do research and educational programs on climate change issue (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/Australian%20Nuclear%20Science%20and%20Technology%20Organisation.pdf) (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/ANSTO.pdf). UNDIP (Faculty of Engineering) and the Netherland Enterprise Agency Programme have also set up the collaboration in research on tackling the SDGs especially in executing the program called “Water as Leverage for Resilient Cities” (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/Netherland%20Enterprise%20Agency.pdf). The agreement was signed on November 2018. In the same year, UNDIP also collaborated with some NGOs (e.g., Witteveen + Bos, KuiperCompagnons, Sweco, Fugro, Deltares and MVO NL) to develop and review comparative approaches to achieve “One Resilient Semarang” (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/One%20Resilient%20Semarang.pdf). In collaboration with Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Initiative for Urban Climate Change and Environment (IUCCE) and Save The Children (STC), UNDIP increased the awareness and engagement of high school students in transforming Trans Semarang BRT (https://iges.or.jp/en/pub/awareness-raising-and-engaging-high-school) (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg17/transforming%20Trans%20Semarang%20BRT.pdf). The program was conducted by providing and developing the training materials and infrastructures for teachers and students.
