In 2018, UNDIP (the School of Postgraduate Studies) contributed to local government (Boyolali regency) to prepare the climate change adaptation action plan, which can assist the local government and community to adapt to the climate change (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/climate%20change%20adaptation%20action%20plan.pdf). In partnership with other parties, UNDIP shared the vision on restoration of the Demak (Central Java Province) district coastline that is threatened by the tidal flood due to global warming (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/restoration%20of%20the%20Demak.pdf). The collaborative project will last until 2020. Beginning at 2016, UNDIP has been involving in developing the “Semarang City’s Resilience Strategy Document as part of the 100 Resilient Cities initiative” in collaboration with Semarang municipality office (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/Semarang%20City%E2%80%99s%20Resilience%20Strategy%20Document.pdf). This project covers several aspects including sustainable water and energy and readiness for disasters and diseases. On 18 to 19 July 2018, UNDIP conducted focus group discussion (FGD) and community exercise on flood prevention in the upstream and its impact on the downstream of the Garang Sub-watershed. The FGD and community exercise was actually part of the project namely “Community Flood Resilience Endline for TRANSFORM Program” in the Upstream of Garang Sub-Watershed, Central Java Province (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/Community%20Flood%20Resilience%20Endline%20for%20TRANSFORM%20Program.pdf). On January 9, 2019, in supported by Semarang municipality office, UNDIP held the national seminar “Transportation in Building the Country”. This seminar shared with local government and community upon the importance of creating quality and sustainable low emissions communities through transportation management (http://iucce.org/index.php/home/article/102). At 6 March 2018, UNDIP shared the university climate action plan with local government and community groups through the interactive dialogue called ‘Suara Jawa Tengah’ with the theme “Anticipation of Disasters and Central Java Weather Projection” (http://pkmbrp.undip.ac.id/peneliti-pkmbrp-undip-menjadi-narasumber-di-acara-dialog-interaktif-suara-jawa-tengah/). Located in the UNDIP Integrated Laboratory Seminar Room, the UNDIP Coastal Mitigation and Rehabilitation Study Center with the Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies Gadjah Mada University held a Focus Group Discussion with the theme “Communication and Politics of Disaster in Indonesia: Analysis of Multi-layered Responses of Maritime Disasters in Semarang and Aceh” . The event which lasted for two days (9-10 April 2018) invited governmental officials related to coastal area disaster mitigation, private sector and journalists to find out the condition of disaster-prone areas and discuss about finding the best solution from the social and technical side (http://pkmbrp.undip.ac.id/focus-group-discussion-communication-and-politics-of-disaster-in-indonesia/).
