UNDIP has done several educational programmes or campaigns on climate change risks, impacts, mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning.  During 2018, the Faculty of Engineering conducted community service programmes including introduction and socialization of the application of new and renewable types of energy (from solar cells) among teachers in the field of natural sciences, utilization of solar energy for lighting the small shop and badminton field in Kramas village, Semarang city and the introduction of new renewable energy solar power plants in the integrated Islamic primary school in Purwodadi regency (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/community%20service%20programmes.pdf). During 2017 to 2018, UNDIP together with the Central Java Provincial Government campaigned and provided education for local people in order to increase the intermodality and ridership of BRT Trans Semarang (public bus transport) in Semarang city (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/intermodality%20and%20ridership%20of%20BRT.pdf). The use of massive public transport is beneficial in alleviating the climate change risks. In 2018, several programmes have also been conducted by UNDIP to provide education on climate change risks, impacts, mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning to local community. In collaboration with the Environmental Service of Boyolali regency, the School of Postgraduate Studies conducted greenhouse gas inventory in the area of Boyolali regency (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/greenhouse%20gas%20inventory.pdf). They also educated the local community to reduce the greenhouse gas emission in the area. Moreover, the School of Postgraduate Studies conducted a training on verticulture cultivation technique as an effort to reduce the heat vapour of house buildings in Siwalan village (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/verticulture%20cultivation%20technique.pdf), Gayamsari district Semarang city and did an evaluation of mangrove ecosystem in Mangunharjo village (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/evaluation%20of%20mangrove%20ecosystem.pdf), Tugu district Semarang city. The School of Postgraduate Studies also did planting as well as conserving of mangrove in Mangunharjo village (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/planting.pdf) (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/conserving.pdf) , Tugu district Semarang city. This program aimed to mitigate the negative impact of abrasion and rob flood in the mentioned area. Through the community service programme, in 2018 UNDIP (the Faculty of Engineering) conducted an education and campaign to the local community on climate change risks, impacts, mitigation, adaptation and impact reduction (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg13/community%20service%20programme.pdf). These programmes included training on growing energy-saving attitudes from an early age for kindergarten teachers in the village of Mojosongo, utilization of solar cells for chargers and emergency lights, training on planting mangroves in the bay area of Teluk Awur, Jepara regency, education in the concept of low carbon city in Sruni village, Jaraksari sub-district, Wonosobo regency to create a town without any slums, bioenergy counselling in the Kendal Darul Arqom Islamic Boarding School as an effort to make the energy independent boarding school, the application of carrying wells to support water shortages in the Tirto Jati Agung agricultural land and counselling about the importance of maintaining groundwater reserves and making infiltration wells in Meteseh village, Semarang city. In partnership with other parties such as Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), UNDIP campaigned to increase the awareness and engagement of high school students in transforming Trans Semarang BRT, which is the public bus transportation in Semarang city (https://iges.or.jp/en/pub/awareness-raising-and-engaging-high-school). It is hoped that by using public transport, the climate change impact can be alleviated. Through student volunteering programmes, UNDIP (Department of Mechanical Engineering) campaigned and improved the environment of the coastal area and planting mangroves as prevention to sea water abrasion (https://mesin.ft.undip.ac.id/2018/05/27/penanaman-1000-mangrove-mahasiswa-teknik-mesin-undip/https://mesin.ft.undip.ac.id/2018/05/27/penanaman-1000-mangrove-mahasiswa-teknik-mesin-undip/).
