UNDIP has a policy to minimize the use of plastic in the area of campus (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg12/minimize%20the%20use%20of%20plastic.pdf). In the decree signed by the rector on 2017, UNDIP urges not to use plastic as a food wrap. All canteens in UNDIP campus are not recommended to sell foods with plastic wrapping. All offices have to provide water dispenser to reduce the use of plastic bottle water (resulting in plastic bottle as waste). UNDIP also campaign “UNDIP Go Green” to all students and academicians in campus. The policy on minimizing the use of plastic in the campus has also been reviewed and updated on August 2018 (https://the.undip.ac.id/download/18sdg12/reviewed%20and%20updated.pdf). In line with the university policy, Department of Marine Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences UNDIP held the Eco Save Makes a Healthy Circle (Cosmis) at Car Free Day, at Pahlawan Street, Semarang City on 18 November 2018. This activity aimed to increase the awareness of the Indonesian people to dispose of plastic waste in its place and reduce its use in consumption (https://jateng.tribunnews.com/2018/11/18/mahasiswa-undip-gelar-kampanye-pengurangan-sampah-plastik-demi-laut-yang-cantik). Likewise, on 8 February 2018 the Community Service Program by the UNDIP students shared knowledge about the use of plastic in households with people in Bawu village. This activity aimed to make the public awareness of the dangers of careless use of plastic (http://kkn.undip.ac.id/?p=40082). Also, on 30 August 2018 the Community Service Program by the UNDIP students enhanced the insight of the people of Gentingsari village towards the dangers (to health) of using plastic for food and beverage. These activities were eventually expected to reduce the use of plastic (http://kkn.undip.ac.id/?p=69592).
